The Batik print and traditional Saman dance, two of Indonesia’s well-loved art forms, are the focal points of this year’s showcase on Indonesian traditions – “Kultur”.
Did you know that Indonesian Batik is registered on UNESCO’s cultural heritage list? Using the old-fashioned wax-resistant dye technique, you can try batik painting on materials such as kites, masks and paper fans. Bring home your very own batik creation as a souvenir!
Catch the Saman dance by our students. Known as the “dance of thousand hands”, Saman is characterised by intricate hand movements and fast-paced rhythms. Experience the excitement, and grab the opportunity to take a ‘selfie’ with our traditional dancers!
Don’t miss ‘The Wall of History’ exhibit that features the timeless beauty of Indonesian culture.
