Established in 2004, Komunitas Indonesia [SMUKI] is one of SMU's cultural clubs. The club aims to promote Indonesian culture within SMU through student-led activities and to showcase Indonesia's diversity through performances, exhibitions, and workshops. SMUKI’s signature event - Gelar Budaya (GAYA) is a musical production which integrates traditional Indonesian culture with modern aspects.

Date, venue and timing of regular meetings / trainings per week:

  • Excos will have weekly meetings among themselves to discuss about their program for their term

  • GAYA members will have practices and meetings based on their roles in the production

SMUKI was the very first family I had when I first came to SMU. As I learn and experience new things in SMU, SMUKI continues to be my chosen family, a family who I would run to whenever I miss the warmth of home. - Jennifer Kenly, 17th SMUKI President, Incoming Year 3 (AY 2019/20)

Q1: Do I have to sign up to be considered as the member of SMUKI?

A1: There is no formal application procedure. Just reach out to us and we will be happy to include you in our community!

Q2: Is there any commitment if I join this CCA?

A2: There is no commitment for members of this CCA, except if you are a member of the Executive Committee (Excos) or you are involved in GAYA (Gelar Budaya)
